Biography

Oliver is an accomplished executive coach, trusted advisor, and former C-level corporate executive who has a strong record of success in leading transformational change, building effective organizations, developing superior talent, and inspiring others to achieve their highest aspirations. For the past eighteen years, he has been the owner and principal of The Prince Group, a global executive coaching; leadership and organizational development; strategic planning; and corporate governance practice. His international work with C-level and other senior executives spans a wide array of verticals in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. In addition, Oliver’s strong background in leadership and organizational development includes nearly a decade of facilitating the Global Leader Development Program for the world's leading safety science corporation.

Over the years, Oliver has leveraged his education in law and finance into his rich and diverse business experiences. His successful corporate career included executive roles in operations and change leadership, culminating in his roles as Chief Human Resources Officer for public and private industry-leading companies.

Throughout his career, Oliver has maintained a commitment to education and public service. His civic affiliations have included board leadership roles in a variety of social service and education organizations. Oliver served as Treasurer of the board of the Black Ensemble Theater Company in Chicago, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to improve self-esteem and achievement among young people in underserved communities by providing formal theater arts education programs through Chicago Public Schools. He is a past board Chair and a long-term trustee at Asheville School, one of the nation’s leading prep schools. He is also a director at the Old Town School of Music in Chicago, the country’s largest community arts school. Nationally, Oliver serves as Vice President of the board of the Independent Schools Chairpersons Association (ISCA).

Oliver holds a B.A. with honors in History and Political Science from Morehouse College; an M.B.A. with honors in Finance from the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University; and a J.D. with honors from John Marshall Law School, Atlanta. He holds a Coaching Certificate from the Executive Learning and Organizational Change program at Northwestern University, and he is certified in the Hogan, MBTI, and FIRO-B assessments.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Oliver has resided in Chicago since 1988. He is a lifelong jazz-trained guitarist, an avid photographer, a passionate sportsperson, and a proud father and grandfather.
