Degree and Certificate Paths
MSLOC offers three degree paths – accelerated, full-time, and part-time. Students have flexibility to switch from one path to another, and to further customize their programs within each path.
MSLOC students choose, and may adjust, their pace to earn 15 credits to complete the degree on the pace that works for you. Our accelerated path allows for completion within 1 year. Our full- and part-time paths range from 1.5 to 5 years, allowing students the option to work part-time or full-time while earning a master’s degree.

Note: Some external factors—including but not limited to international student visa requirements, federal loan requirements, and/or employer reimbursement guidelines—can require or influence students to move at a certain pace for their coursework.
Students may opt to take one or more cohort-based certificate—in coaching, equity and inclusion, or organizational effectiveness—as part of their degree program. See the table below for options for completing one or more certificates alongside a Master’s degree.

Certificate to Degree Options
We provide the chance to dive deep in a practice area with our cohort-based certificates. For our cohort-based certificates (DOEC, LEIOC, OLCC), you can choose to pursue a standalone certificate or earn one or more cohort-based certificates alongside your MSLOC degree. All certificate credits may count toward total degree credit requirements, meaning you can earn a certificate as part of your degree path without taking additional courses.
For all of our certificates, whether cohort-based or not, you may choose to start as a certificate-only student and decide to continue on for the degree. Any students wishing to convert from a certificate-only student to a degree student will complete a supplementary application prior to completing their certificate coursework. Upon admission into the degree program, the student’s certificate course credits will count toward degree requirements.
