Northwestern Inter-School Transfer

Are you a Northwestern undergrad interested in joining the SESP community? Students who are interested in applying to transfer into SESP can participate in the Interschool Transfer process. Please note that the next IST process will begin during Fall 2024 for matriculation into the school during Winter 2025. You will follow this process:

  1. Attend the SESP IST Information Session in the Student Affairs Office (Annenberg 123) for an info session. Please visit this site to sign up for a session during the Fall quarter.  
  2. OPTIONAL for 1st and 2nd Years/ MANDATORY for 3rd Year+ : Email Allison Ledwon, the SESP Student Affairs program coordinator to schedule an appointment with a SESP academic adviser. Please include several days and times when you are available for a 20- to 30-minute virtual or in-person advising meeting during the quarter. We recommend that first attend the info session and then attend this meeting. You may also schedule an appointment in person after your info session if you still have questions.
  3. Submit the official Interschool Transfer application through the Registrar's Office. 

Concentration-Specific Considerations: Elementary Teaching

Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences students who wish to pursue elementary teaching licensure must apply to the program by the fall of their third year and complete the requirements of the elementary teaching concentration. They also must complete the degree requirements of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.

Concentration-Specific Considerations: Secondary Teaching

Students from Weinberg who want to pursue secondary teaching licensure must apply to the program by the fall of their third year and complete the requirements of the secondary teaching concentration. They also must complete the Weinberg degree requirements.
