What is ELOC?

ELOC prepares leaders and leadership coaches through interdisciplinary courses that build world-class executive skills. The curriculum centers on two core areas: coaching and organizational change.

Coaching Courses: Develop impactful one-on-one coaching skills through deep listening, empathy, powerful questions, and reflection.

Change & Design Courses: Learn to lead transformation across individuals, teams, and systems using design thinking and change management.

ELOC draws upon research and insights from a diverse set of academic and professional disciplines. These include organizational development, organizational and social psychology, learning sciences, and organizational behavior. We also draw from the fields of strategy, change management, knowledge management, social networking, talent management, coaching, and design.

Class Format

Rather than committing to a full degree or graduate certificate program, you can register for indiviudal coures to earn a certificate of completion for each class. Completing all four ELOC Coaching courses will earn you an additional certificate and over 80 hours of coach training, enough training hours to submit a portfolio application for an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) coaching credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Class size averages around 12-20 people, and total course time requirements range from 12 to 40 hours. You can take coures in any order.

ELOC courses are open-enrollment: you can register for any course, in any order, whenever it is offered. There is an ELOC admissions process, and once accepted you can register for courses one-at-a time or sign up for multiple courses at once. At the close of each course, you will recieve a certificate of completion. ELOC courses cannot be use for MSLOC degree credit.

Flexible Schedule

ELOC offers immediate, modular learning to meet your development objectives. Courses can be completed in a concentrated seminar or over a number of weeks.

Northwestern's ELOC program differs from our Master's Program in Learning and Organizational Change (MSLOC), as it is segmented into shorter, actionable courses intended for working professionals, and does not confer a degree.

ELOC courses are offered in flexible formats that include synchronous and asynchronous learning. Coaching and change management courses are offered in-person, online, and in some cases, a blend of the two options. All courses involve collaboration with experienced, diverse leaders in an exciting class environment.
