Hoa Vu, PhD, is a Lecturer and Lead Economist at Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy.
His research investigates how social policies and structural inequalities shape health, education, and labor market outcomes across the life course. He employs natural experiments and large-scale survey and administrative data to study questions at the intersection of health economics, labor economics, and the economics of education. His published and ongoing work spans topics such as the long-term effects of racial violence and immigration enforcement; the role of segregation in infant and maternal health; and the impacts of subminimum wage elimination on economic opportunity for people with disabilities.
