  • MSLOC Coach

Biography

Eric is a corporate talent program director, executive coach, and leadership development expert. He joined the MSLOC faculty in 2018 as a coach for incoming students and continues to coach and advise MSLOC students today.

In his first career, he served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for 21 years, rising to the rank of Commander. Eric’s duty stations included 4 ships, including an assignment as the Commanding Officer of the USCGC Katmai Bay and Executive Officer of the USCGC Mackinaw. In shore assignments, he managed the Coast Guard’s portfolio of leadership development courses and served as second-in-command of the Service’s largest training center.

Following his retirement from active service in 2017, Eric made the jump into the corporate world. He led team member engagement and other talent projects at W.W. Grainger, an industrial distributor. In 2022, he joined Elevance Health’s talent team as a Talent Program Director. Eric now oversees numerous talent programs, crafts team effectiveness solutions, guides leaders through succession planning, and provides executive development for business units totaling 24,000 associates.

Eric lives in Gurnee, Illinois with his wife Mary and their daughter Katherine. In his spare time, he enjoys tabletop gaming, golf, reading, and bowling (though his daughter is much more skilled than he will ever be in this sport).
