Biography

Rooted in a commitment to equity and language justice, Erica Garcia draws on her background in multilingual education and literacy instruction to advocate for multilingual learners and Newcomer students and families. Her work is centered on culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogy, teaching for empowerment, and brain-based teaching and learning practices. When she is not teaching an MSED course, she is leading her school’s Multilingual Program.
