Advance Equity and Social Justice
Recognize that teaching grounded in equity and social justice is essential in rigorous learning of subject matter in any setting.
Educational Studies is designed for practitioners and newcomers to the field of education who are interested in various educational topics, including learning, child development, and educational technology. Graduates with prior teaching experience may continue teaching, while others work for education-related companies or non-profits. While this concentration does not lead to teaching licensure, Illinois-licensed teachers may earn additional subsequent endorsements.
The standard pathway for Educational Studies is one year, full-time. Some students choose to extend their studies to two years, part-time.
